If You Have a Blogger Account

Edited because I always remember Works for Me Wednesday after the fact and I want as many people as possible to read and do this.

You know what's going on here so I'm not going to bore you with a long post about it. Basically you have the sick boy, dirty dishes, a tired mama and a couple of bored girls. And so many of you have left a sweet comment to say you are praying for Milo and I want to say thank you for that. Sometimes I'd like to shoot you a personal email with my thanks. But some of you make it difficult.

So, I'm going to plead with you. Make it easy for me to say thank you. Put your email address on your blogger account.

Sometimes you ask me a question. I love to answer questions. So make it easy for me. Put your email address on your blogger account.

Sometimes I just want to say thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate that you took the time to say a few words about what I wrote. So, make it easy for me to do that. Put your email address on your blogger account.

Quickly, before the boy needs me again, here are the easy steps that will make me so happy!

Go to your blogger dashboard.
On the right, under your photo click edit profile.
Here you will need to fill in the blank to provide an email address and check the box that says show my email address.

This does not mean your email address will show up when you comment for others to see. It only means that when you comment I can hit reply and send and email right back to you. Really, it's so much fun for me to do that.

If you've never added an email to your blogger account then you should. Set up a separate account on gmail or some other place just for blogging. Then provide that address on your blogger account. It will make my life so much easier. And yours too!

And I will send you email.

I need to do this! I haven't yet because BOTH of my email accounts have my full name or parts of my full name. I just need to take the time and get it done.
Glad to hear Milo is feeling better. I have a sick little boy today myself.

okay mom. :)

(seriously, I think mine's good. Seeing as you email me periodically, which makes me happy)

I use to read your blog over at HSB and then lost track. Noticed you over at the new HS Lounge and tracked you down over here. Nice to see you again!

Do you know, I have had this same conversation (I think) and have asked people to publish their email address. And then today I was all, hmm, I wonder if I show mine? And I hadn't. So mine is in there now. And we can have all kinds of secret email conversation outside of the comments sections! Bwa ha ha!

Seriously! Can I just copy and paste this post as my own. I've been intending to write the same thing! I get so bummed by the number of "no-reply" comments I get.
I HEART when you respond to my comment by e-mail, it's always so nice to see chickadee in my inbox. :)

But it's so much more fun to have you come over to my blog and read it and make a comment there! :-)

Of course that's easy for *me* to say, since I have a manageably small number of bloggy friends and I do *not* have a sick 3-yr-old boy. (I do have a sick 9-y/o girl, but as you know, that is much different.)

Actually, not having a Blogger blog myself, I was not aware of that handy click-and-email option. Hmmm. I will consider putting my email on my blogger account, but don't hold your breath. I may just have to continue to live w/o email from chickadee and hope for the occasional comment on my blog. :-)

I'm never sure if my email address shows or not. Maybe I should check that, eh?

Wow. You've taught me something new. I did not know all that, being new to Blogger myself. Very cool. I will try to compy, madame. Off to give it a whirl...

Done!! Thanks for the explanation about how it all works. I was misunderstanding something about the way it would show up and you made it all make sense. :)
Soo...now I can expect an email, right?? LOL

I hope this works. Sometimes I would really like to start a conversation with someone who has left me a comment but I just don't have the time to follow the trail and investigate just HOW to get in contact with them.

Hope Milo is all better soon!

Commenting!

but, but, but.... it means so much MORE when i know you have spent a hassled time searching for my email addy in your contacts list. hahaha. plus, i am too lazy to sign in to my blogger account, and when i do, it always makes me feel guilty for never blogging from that account.

Good morning! I just read your article, 'Room To Learn', in 'The Old Schoolhouse' magazine. I certainly understand about how stuff accumulates. We have homeschooled 4 boys over the last 11 years. (Our oldest went to public school for his first 7 grades.) You didn't even get to the musical instrument, sports equipment, going to battle (PVC swords, spud guns, catapults, etc.) stuff!

Now we have a grandbaby and will be adding more learning supplies to our home for when she visits.

Thanks for a great article!

OK, I've done this, at least I think I have. Now I have a question: When someone leaves a comment on my blog, how do I e-mail them directly from the comment? It sounds like that's what you're doing, and I can't figure out how to.

Hope Milo's feeling better!

Okie Dokie, Chickadee! :)

Hope that the little guy is back up to speed soon. We are all sick here, too. I had never felt pain like this in my throat before! Certainly makes me more sympathetic to my children's middle of the night please for relief!

I thought mine was set up, but I'll have to double check now.

Curious.

It took me a long time to see the benefit of this! I have also found the benefit of Google reader - just in case you haven't discovered that little gem yet!

I've been on a bloggy break the latter half of Feb, so I'm just now getting around to saying THANK YOU for this post! It's brilliant, and I'm going to be linking to it very soon. I know I get terribly frustrated when I can't reply directly to commenters on my blog.

Great suggestions!

Yes! Everyone should do this LOL! I'm stealing you post (but crediting it to you of course) to put on my blog =)

Yes, Yes, Yes. I couldn't have said it better. I've had so many nice comments that I can't respond to for this reason, and it really makes me sad.

What a nice way of asking. I wasn't sure how to go about it. Me, a person never at a loss for words. LOL! Your percentage of posters is better than mine. :P
